"Well behaved woman seldom make history." - Laurel Ulrich
This quote has come up several times within this past week. What does this quote mean? To go "against" society? To live carelessly?
That is often how people take this quote.
Laurel Ulrich was a lady who wrote a book with this quote in it. She wasn't expecting anything to come out of it but now it is a very well-known quote.
While I was thinking about this quote I began to think about society. I definitely do not want to be considered a norm in society, and I wouldn't say I am a misbehaved woman. I think the misbehaved woman today are those that define society.
I want to be a woman who behaves in a way that pleases my God. I want to be an encouraging friend, a sacrificial wife, and a loving mother. Those that live lives following God may not be well known and may not have changed the world, but they changed their family and their friends. I want to watch my little ones grow into godly adults and pursue godly lives.
That is the history I want to make.
I want to challenge you with this thought - what are you leaving behind?
Do those who walk away from you after even the shortest conversation walk away better? Are you encouraging them with your words, your smile, or your presence?

I have found that one of the greatest ways to make your perspective on life is to make others happy. Smile at someone as you walk past them, wave hello, or ask the employee behind the register how their day is going and care about their response. You can make their day.
Sorry for the very off topic post. My train of thought went a little off the rails tonight.

As another side note, I am reading the book "Lies Women Believe". I am not very far into it, but would definitely recommend it to my Christian lady friends.
